On Friday, March 26, 2018, we were pleased to meet with representatives from the Sayisi Dene First Nation at MoveMobility’s Head Office in Winnipeg to hand over their new Wheelchair Accessible vans! Thank you to Peter and Shirley Cheekie and the drivers who accompanied them.
Accommodating Winter Roads
The Wheelchair Accessible Promasters were completed in a very short space of time. This was due to the requirement for the vans to be driven across Manitoba’s winter roads. Because of the remote location of some northern communities, these basic access routes cross many types of landscape: muskeg, rivers, lakes, and streams. The winter roads are expected to close early this year, meaning our team at MoveMobility worked hard to have the vans ready to go before the roads deteriorated. For more information on Manitoba’s winter roads system, visit the Government of Manitoba’s website here.
Our team also became aware that there is an upcoming Carnival at the Sayisi Dene First Nation. MoveMobility decided to donate a Vento Wifi Drone for a door prize. We were very pleased to have received the shipment of our company mascots, Emmitt, and we sent them along! Read the blog post on Emmit here.
We would like to thank the Sayisi Dene First Nation for working with us! We’re excited to see all the places that Emmitt will travel to on his ‘voyages’ with our happy clients! Follow us on Social Media to keep in the loop!
