Transport Canada recently announced a new incentive for an electric van funding program that will “help businesses and communities across the country make the switch to zero-emission vehicles.” (Source).
The Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles Program will provide incentives that cover around 50% of the cost difference between an electric vehicle and a non-electric vehicle. It will be applicable to those who purchase or lease eligible vehicles, including the Ford E-Transit cargo van and other commercial vehicles.
The Government of Canada provides a list of eligible vehicles here.
Those eligible include organizations, businesses, municipal governments, and provinces and territories.
