Summary

The Mechanical Designer leads the design and development of aftermarket vehicle conversion solutions, taking projects from concept through completion. Using 3D modeling software, they create detailed designs, compile manufacturing documentation, and collaborate with production and project management teams. This role supports innovation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement while ensuring parts and processes align with client needs and company goals.

Responsibilities

Design & Engineering • Collaborate with the Project Management Team to develop modern, innovative fabrication solutions for vehicle conversions. • Design projects using 3D modeling software from concept to final as-built drawings. • Provide accurate, detailed information for Operator and Maintenance Manuals. • Compile design files for parts manufacturing and ensure compatibility with production equipment. • Create and test prototypes of component parts. • Conduct production run and quality assurance testing. • Improve existing part designs and contribute to process development and innovation. Project & Documentation Management • Document all project work in project management software. • Submit weekly reports for each project. • Organize and maintain design documents, change orders, shop drawings, and related files. • Attend daily Innovation huddles and regular shop meetings. • Communicate with production staff to support implementation of design changes.
