As a Service Technician, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing customer vehicles while contributing to prototype development. You'll troubleshoot technical issues, ensure quality control in vehicle inspections, and collaborate with engineers to refine innovative designs. This role demands hands-on expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong coordination with customers, suppliers, and service providers. Duties and Responsibilities

Trouble Shooting & Diagnostics • Identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions by analyzing symptoms and using diagnostic tools. • Assist customers over the phone with diagnosing and resolving technical issues. • Work with third-party service providers across North America and suppliers to troubleshoot product concerns. Repair & Maintenance • Perform necessary repairs by replacing faulty components, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment according to manufacturer specifications. • Conduct routine vehicle maintenance inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems. Final Customer Order Vehicle Inspection • Conduct thorough final inspections of all customer-ordered vehicles before delivery • Verify accuracy of vehicle specifications, features and customizations • Ensure that all work meets quality standards and company guidelines • Check for cosmetic and functional defects ensuring a flawless finish • Identify and document any discrepancies or necessary corrections • Coordinate with Production and service teams to resolve any quality issues Innovation & Prototyping • Work with the Innovation team to build, test, and refine prototype vehicles, mock-ups, and new automotive technologies. • Provide feedback and hands-on insights to engineers and designers, contributing ideas for design improvements and product development. • Inspect final production products for potential issues or concerns. Internal & Customer Interaction • Respond to CSR concerns via group Teams chat to help identify necessary repairs or parts or to assist with technical questions. • Communicate effectively with suppliers, OEMs, and technical hotlines to resolve issues and support troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of chassis mechanics and operation of accessible, mobile medical, and ambulance conversions. • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to analyze problems, identify potential causes, and develop solutions. • Hand Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with various tools and equipment used for repairs and conversions, including diagnostic tools and welding skills. • Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with CSRs, PSRs, technical hotlines, OEMs, and clients as needed. • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong critical thinking skills to assess situations and find effective solutions. • Attention to Detail & Quality Control: Ability to carefully follow procedures, ensure quality workmanship, and inspect final production products for potential issues.

Education

Certification or training in Automotive Technology, Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Relevant experience in vehicle service, maintenance, or product development is a strong asset. • Experience working with suppliers, OEMs, and third-party service providers is beneficial.
