Looking to bring lasting change to your community in Yukon? The Community Development Fund (CDF) might be a great fit. Here’s a quick guide to help you understand what it is, who can apply, and how it works.

What is the Community Development Fund?

The Community Development Fund provides funding for projects that help Yukon communities grow stronger. It supports projects that create jobs, improve spaces, and build community connections.

CDF helps with:

  • Building or fixing community spaces

  • Learning programs and workshops

  • Community events

  • Planning and research

  • Projects that boost the economy or improve social life

 

Who can get Community Development Fund support?

The fund is open to many types of groups based in Yukon, including:

  • Registered non-profits

  • Charities

  • Yukon-based not-for-profit corporations

  • First Nations and municipal governments

  • First Nation development corporations

 

Who can apply for the Community Development Fund?

To apply, you must:

  • Be one of the eligible groups listed above

  • Have a project that gives long-term benefits to your community

  • Be based in Yukon

  • Reach out to a CDF advisor to check your project fits the rules

 

What are the conditions?

Projects must:

  • Help the local economy (jobs, spending, or buildings)

  • Bring money into Yukon from outside the territory

  • Teach new skills or build knowledge

  • Build social bonds and support the community’s future

  • Clearly show the benefits for Yukon residents

 

Funding amounts:

  • Tier 1: Up to $20,000

  • Tier 2: $20,001 to $75,000

  • Tier 3: Over $75,000

 

CDF covers up to 90% of your project or event costs.

 

Deadline dates to know

Applications must be in by 4:30 PM on these days:

 

Tier Deadline Dates
Tier 1 January 15, May 15, July 15, October 15
Tier 2 April 15, September 15
Tier 3 January 15

If the date falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day.
