New Features

The new changes to the 2016 VMI Honda Odyssey Side Entry Minivan Models include:

  • Simplified diagnostics with VMIQ
  • Standard rear view camera and expanded driver mirror
  • HondaVAC (standard on Touring Elite and option on SE)

The new VMIQ control board is a new simplified diagnostics control board for the van. A dash light notifies you when preventative maintenance is due. Service Technicians will really like the van because of the simple, plug and play USB connection for performing diagnostics on the vehicle. Gone are the days of needing to disassemble the controller or vehicle sub components.

The VMIQ control board can now be accessed through the optional handheld diagnostic tool. This device can be bought directly from VMI or through MoveMobility. The VMIQ dashboard is now installed on all 2016 models. The control board can be installed on used Honda Odyssey side entry wheelchair accessible minivans manufactured after September 15, 2015.

Honda Odyssey Side Entry Conversion Options

There are two options available for the Honda Odyssey. Both options are power conversions.

Northstar Conversion

The first option is the Northstar in-floor power ramp. This ramp provides the most room for wheelchair users to maneuver inside the van. This option is fantastic for individuals who are looking to be able to drive the van. The ramp system is able to accommodate large chairs and offers an ultra low to the ground floor.

The Honda Odyssey Northstar offers the most headroom of any Honda conversion available today. The doorway is clear and free of any obstructions. This makes it easy for wheelchair users to easily exit or enter the van. The Northstar comes standard with a third-row footrest, The rear valence matches the colour of your wheelchair van making it look like a typical minivan. The van uses sound deadening materials to allow for a very quiet ride.

Summit Conversion

The VMI Summit conversion van accommodates both manual and power van chairs. The ramp is a durable, fold-out ramp, complete with 2″ high safety side rails. If needed, the ramp can be deployed manually. The Summit conversion is slightly less than the in-floor Northstar conversion. A fold-out ramp is ideal of individuals who tend to travel a lot of the time on gravel roads.
